UAH Blackbook #1. Alte Post
The first Blackbook documents the years 2017 to 2019 in the former Alte Post Spandau, which during this period was used as the Urban Art Hall. The volume shows how the vacant building became an open space for street art, graffiti, installations, and mural art. Large-format photographs capture the creation of works on walls, doors, corridors, and hall surfaces — from quick tags to complex murals. They are complemented by background texts that shed light on the context in which the works were created and on the significance of the Alte Post within Berlin’s urban art scene.
With the demolition of the building in December 2019, the Blackbook becomes a time document of a transient yet defining place within the scene.
